Common Usage Knowledge Of Multifunction Power Meters

Most end users encounter various problems when using multifunction power meters. With work experience, it is easy to find solutions to these problems, but some beginners may not be able to solve them. We have specifically asked our technical after-sales team to compile some common usage problems.

1、Does the meter need a current transformer when measuring current?

The meter's current measurement range is AC0-5A, and its voltage measurement range is AC0-450V. If the current measurement range exceeds the meter's measurement value, a current transformer must be installed, and measurement is performed by changing the meter's display ratio.

2、Selection of current transformer for installation

When the line current being measured is AC0-100A, a 100/5A current transformer should be selected, and then the display ratio on the meter should be changed to 100. This allows real-time detection of the line current and real-time display of the current. In addition, when purchasing a current transformer, be sure to purchase a product with a high accuracy class, preferably accuracy class 0.5 or above.

4、Function of alarm output

  When the load has a stable working current, you can set the upper and lower working current limits of the load device on the meter. When the working current of the load device exceeds the set value, the meter outputs a passive dry contact control signal. This control signal is used to control the main switch to disconnect the power, ensuring the load device will not be damaged.
